Anime Vector Site Rules and Usage Policies

Mission Statement and Usage Agreement: Anime Vector was created as a one-stop shop for your online needs!

Our Focus is on:

A community for progressing & displaying graphically related talents.

A forum for intelligent discussions on topics from anime to web design to just about anything else.

A blog system for talking about your life, thoughts & opinions.

As well as a place for making friends and just having fun.

We want each member to find this place a refuge from silly rules, elitism and god-complexes. Having said that, we have rules & site usage policies which are designed to be flexible yet allow people to enjoy themselves. All without giving free reign to those who wish to disrupt or cause problems.

Below are the Rules and Policies of Anime Vector. Please follow them and you will find this a fun site; do not follow them and you will not be here long.

By your use of this site, you confirm that you have read all of the site rules, will keep up with the additions to the site rules, agree to the site rules and will do your utmost to adhere to the rules as presented. Violation of any of these rules can result in one or more of the following: legal action, warnings, public reprimand, thread deletion or closure, temporary suspension of account and/or permanent banning from Anime Vector.; Top

Member Rules

Accounts: 1) Each Member is restricted to having only 1 registered account on Anime Vector and is not allowed to "share" that account with anyone.

2) Do not register accounts that mimic staff's screennames. Accounts which have a similar name as the accounts of the staff will be deleted, I.E. Chiefblackhammer1 is not an acceptable screen name and will be deleted.

3) Do not register accounts which have slanderous or profane screen names. I.E. janewatkinsisawhore is not an acceptable screen name and will be deleted.

4) Accounts which are registered, but have never posted with in 6 months of registering, may be deleted in an effort to keep screen names available for those who will actually be using the site.; Top

Member Attitudes: 1) Members are not allowed to have god-complexes or pseudo-mod. Leave your high and mighty attitudes at the door. Report material you find to be in violation of the site rules but do not correct members or tell them to read the rules which includes telling them to do so in Introduction Threads.

2) Do not disrespect, flame, insult or harass other members.

3) Do not argue or harass the moderators of this site, they are the established authority and should be treated with respect. Contact an administrator in the event that you feel a moderator has dealt with you unfairly.

4) We appreciate those who contribute and we seek to reward them for their efforts, however, this does not entitle elitism. Do not feel like you are better than other members or that you're entitled to anything more than the basic respect given to all members. High post counts, gallery submissions, and zenny amounts are all things to work towards but mean nothing in terms of status.; Top

Signatures and Avatars: 1) Each member is restricted to no more than 2 sigs with a max length of 500 pixles and a combined height of 300 pixels. In addition, you may have 1 userbar with a max length of 500 and max height of 20 pixels. Likewise 3 reasonably sized lines of text is also allowed.

2) Each member is restricted to 1 avatar of a minimum of 20x20 and a maximum of 200x200 with a file size no larger than 71680 bytes (71.68 KB).

3) Avatars and Signatures are not allowed to contain pornographic, hentai, ecchi, profanity or any otherwise offensive words and images.

Members who cannot follow these rules will have their avatar & signatures removed as well as their avatar & signature privileges revoked.; Top

Posting: 1) Do not post pornographic, hentai, ecchi or otherwise offensive materials including links to such things.

2) Do not create advertising threads, post links to illegal materials or request the previously mentioned.

3) Do not use profanity or sexual innuendo phrases.

4) Do not spam or otherwise create junk posts & threads (This includes favorites and lists without sufficient reasons to justify your points)

5) Do not plagiarize. Quotes should be placed in quotations and proper citation given to the place from which you have taken it. However at no time may a published literary work (not written by you) be posted in it's entirety (such as a poem written by someone else).

6) Do not double post or create duplicate "live" topics, use the "Search" feature before creating a new thread, as the same or similar thread may be currently active. If the subject is dead or non-existent then create away! Likewise you may double post in the fanfic and novel sections only if you are the thread author and your post is the continuation of the storyline.

7) Do not abuse the Report feature; use this feature ONLY to report material you find to be in violation of the site rules.

8) Use a descriptive title about the subject of your thread when posting a thread. This ensures it is easy to find.

9) Use Anime Vector for dynamic and well-educated discussions. While we encourage the making of friends, please post things of a personal nature in your Anime Vector blog unless posted in a moderator created thread designed for the content you are posting (such as the Rant thread).; Top

Gallery

General: Anime Vector offers a wonderful gallery system for those who want to show off thier work, are looking for resource material and those who just like to look. The gallery is broken up into several categories; each of which has its own additional set of rules. All images uploaded to the gallery must conform to the rules for the categories it applies to as well as these general rules:

1) Images cannot contain pornographic, hentai, ecchi, profanity or otherwise offensive images and words.

2) You must adhere to all requirements of the image owner if you use a scan, render, vector or other image from the gallery or resource section which the image owner has stated requirements for use. Such as, but not limited to, giving credit to the person who vectored the image within your wallpaper description.

3) Images tagged with a screen name or site marker other than your own will be treated as plagiarized items and deleted. We understand people use different handles on different sites so please PM a moderator if your work has a different handle than the one you are using here.

4) You must take every effort possible to properly categorize the image being uploaded. We assume as the creator of the image you know everything about the image and should have no difficulty in categorizing it. For example, if you do not know the series the image(s) used in the wallpaper is from, then more than likely you did not create the wallpaper and it will be treated as plagiarism.

5) List your requirements of use for your images with your image upload/posts here on Anime Vector, if you do not state terms of use then by virtue of your upload you are giving full rights to use the image without credit to you and/or other restrictions as would have been defined by you.

6) Do not upload images you did not create, even if you have permission from the owner. You may use images in your work created by someone else as long as the bulk of the work is created by you. For instance, you cannot take a vector created by Zyta and a background created by Sazzy and put them together in a wallpaper format and call it your own work. If you are unsure if the amount of work you have done will qualify please PM a moderator.; Top

Requesting a category: If you want to upload an image and the categories you need are not currently available please use the "Request Category" feature which will send a PM to an admin who will set it up for you, do not upload the image incorrectly asking for a reclassification in your image description.; Top

Wallpapers: 1) All wallpapers must conform to standard screen display resolutions with the smallest size allowed being 1024x768. Wallpapers smaller than this just cannot be used by a majority of our members and therefore are not allowed. Non-standard sizes are not allowed. Below is a listing of acceptable screen display resolutions.

Normal:
2048x1536
1600x1200
1280x960
1152x864
1024x768

Widescreen:
2560x1600
1920x1200
1680x1050
1440x900
1280x800

2) Only finished wallpapers are allowed, please do not upload works in progress to the gallery. Instead use the Graphics Workshop forum to get tips and advice on completing your wallpaper.; Top

2) Only finished renders are allowed, please do not upload works in progress to the gallery. Instead use the Graphics Workshop forum to get tips and advice on completing your render.; Top

Member Pictures: Member Pictures must have been taken with a camera by yourself and can be of anything from self portraits to nature shots. Images cannot contain pornographic, hentai, ecchi, profanity or otherwise offensive images and words.; Top

Signatures: Signatures are restricted to a max width of 500 pixles and a max height of 300 pixels.; Top

Original Art: We realize that sometimes artists will create a fan based drawing of a character or of something which isn't based on Anime or a Game. The Original Art category is for displaying images of this nature.; Top

The Zen System

What is the Zen system and Zenny?: In life everything is give and take. Here on Anime Vector the Zen system is our embodiment of this ideal. The more you give to the site, the more you're allowed to take from it. As you post, upload images, donate to the site and achieve certain other things you will gain zenny points which can be redeemed for image downloads and other useful site related content. The information below is your guide to this system!; Top

Who can earn and spend zenny?: In general normal members earn and spend zenny, but not everyone is equal in the world so there are some restrictions. Because of the role they serve, the staff has to have access to everything on the site without restriction so they do not earn or spend zenny. Banned members are stripped of their zenny and by virtue of being banned can not gain or spend zenny either.; Top

How can I gain zenny?: There are several ways to earn zenny so here they are:

1) Post! We love activity and reward each post you make here on Anime Vector with 2-10 zenny! Basically you get 2 zenny just for posting but not all posts are equal so the other 8 zenny is based on the length of your post.

2) Create threads! We realize it is harder to come up with topics than it is to just post in them so we give you 12-20 zenny for creating topics. Basically you get 12 zenny just for creating a topic but not all topics are equal so the other 8 zenny is based on the length of your topic.

3) Upload images to the gallery! Anime Vector is a resource site and thus the gallery very important to us and you. Having said this, uploading images gains you a lot in the Zen system. Each category is slightly different and not all of them earn you zenny so below is a listing of how you gain zenny for each of them.

Wallpapers - 50-100 zenny based on the size of the wallpaper. The bigger the size the more zenny you earn! Here is a detailed listing:

2560x2048 - 100 zenny
2560x1600 - 91 zenny
1920x1200 - 86 zenny
1680x1050 - 82 zenny
1600x1200 - 77 zenny
1440x900 - 73 zenny
1400x1050 - 68 zenny
1280x960 - 64 zenny
1280x800 - 59 zenny
1152x864 - 55 zenny
1024x768 - 50 zenny

Scans - Scans earn you a straight 50 zenny a pop!

Vectors - Vectors take more effort than scans do so therefore they earn you 100 zenny a pop!

Renders - Renders take more effort than scans but less than vectors do so therefore they earn you 75 zenny a pop!

Signatures - Unfortunately signatures are really nothing more than you showing off your graphic skills and getting feedback on them. Therefore they are rarely usable items for the other members of Anime Vector so they don't earn you zenny for uploading them.

Memeber Pictures - Unfortunately Member Pictures are nothing more than you showing off your artistic skills and getting feedback on them. Therefore they are rarely usable items for the other members of Anime Vector and as such don't earn you zenny for uploading them.

4) Donate $$$ to Anime Vector - Running a site isn't cheap and bandwidth as well as storage costs are expensive. We realize that there are some people who love Anime Vector and have money they can donate to our cause. For this we offer zenny in exchange for your contribution. How it works is the minimum donation amount which earns you zenny is $5 USD per donation. For which you get 2,500 zenny; after that you will earn a bonus 1,000 more zenny per dollar donated. So if you donate $50 USD you will get 47,500 zenny! Keep in mind this is per donation and there is no bonus carry over from previous donations. Also donations even though they earn you site points are just donations and will not be refunded under any circumstance. Likewise they do not earn you special right to the zenny given in exchange for your donation, they can be removed for various site offences just like zenny earned through other means.

5) Special Status - Is it your birthday? Did you reach community status? Hit a milestone marker? Well we may reward you accordingly. This varies by status and is meant as a surprise gift so don't expect to know a head of time if and how much you're getting!; Top

I lost zenny why!?: There are several ways to forfeit your zenny and they are as such:

1) Breaking a rule - By using this site you agree to the rules and thus breaking rules carries a fine no different than a speeding ticket would. The fine varies based on the offense and the number of times you have broken it. This is irreversible and permanent; you will not get your zenny back by complaining. If you don't want to lose the zenny than don't break the rules.

2) Thread deletion - We hate spam and junk posts/threads thus if your thread is deleted you will lose 100 zenny, even if that puts you in the negative. It may also be in conjunction with an additional loss of zenny from a rule infraction.

3) Post deletion - We hate spam and junk posts/threads thus if your thread is deleted you will lose 100 zenny, even if that puts you in the negative. It may also be in conjunction with with an additional loss of zenny from a rule infraction.

4) Image deletion - We hate plagiarism and junk images thus if your image is deleted you will lose 200 zenny, even if that puts you in the negative. It may also be in conjunction with more with an additional loss of zenny from a rule infraction.

5) Banning - If banned from AV you forfeit all zenny and you will not get them back even if reinstated at a later date.; Top

How can I spend zenny?: There are several ways to spend zenny in a fun way and these are it:

1) Username changes - Tired of that old username? Change it!! But it will cost you 5,000 zenny to do it! (Note the username you desire must not be an already existing member name and must conform to the other site rules for usernames).

2) Image Downloads - Well if you gain zenny by uploading them then you must also pay zenny to download them! Wallpapers, Scans, Renders and Vectors all cost 50 zenny per image to download the full sized image. Original Art, Member Pictures and Signatures are free for all to view at full size. Likewise Community Members receive a discount of 30 percent bringing their cost down to 35 zenny per image.

3) Moderator status - 1,000,000 zenny! Yes that is right, if you can achieve this awesome task and give up all that zenny you can take your spot on our staff with full moderator powers!!! Note that this status can be revoked or denied by the current staff with or without cause.; Top
